15 years ago I made a 3d model for 3D printing that Lego used DCMA to take off Thingiverse. It was a 3D printed Arwing from Starfox 64 and a Lego Minifig Starfox. When Lego DCMA’d my design it spurred me to make PrintABlok, which has become my obsession for the past 5 years. But in all that time, I never did go back and 3D print the design that Lego took down.
That changes now.
If you’d like to get a free set of PrintAQuest, all you need to do is:
- Download PrintAQuest:SKIRMISH for free.
- 3D Print it.
- Take a picture.
- Post the picture anywhere online like on social medial including a make on Printables, Makerworld or Thingiverse.
- Send the link to cymon@3dpprofessor.com
- Cymon will send you a code for PrintAQuest.
If you’re brand new to PrintABlok, I will admit it can be a bit overwhelming. Here’s a good place to start:
- Download the free base set.
- Print P101 Printablok – Base Small Plate.stl
- Snap them together and go “ooh”
From here it’s a question of serious or fun?
If you want to take a the serious route, check out StorABloks in the free base set.
If you want to have some fun, try printing the Battlemecha frame in /kits/500 Battlemecha and use the parts in /parts/120 Covers to beef it up.
Or we can just play a game with PrintAQuest.
Whatever you choose to do, you’ll be building a world of possibilities with PrintABlok.
